New Year, new start.
Hello reader.
Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a fun-filled and fantastic festive period. I know I did.
In the spirit of the season I’ve decided to set out my resolutions for 2012, perhaps this will help me stick to them.
1- Lose more weight. I did well at this in the last 3 months, Christmas has cause a bit of a hiccup but I’m still doing well. I’ll be back on the diet as of Tuesday and aim to lose another 5-6 stone this year.
2- Sort out my finances. Seriously. I’m 25, I have a decent paying job and no real demands like children or crippling debts and yet I run out of money nearly every month. This year, that’s getting sorted out.
3- Stop being a bore. I have a tendency to go on about things a bit much and no-one really cares. Maybe it would improve some of my relationships, not to mention stop the argument that I protest too much about not wanting babies!
Well, that’s me for the year. How about you?
I don’t need any New Years resolutions. I’m already perfect, don’t you think?
Joking aside, I plan to eat better and look after myself a bit more to avoid getting ill again. When I’m feeling better I plan to start doing daily exercise again to help rebuild all the muscle I lost being ill – I’ve already been working on this by doing daily “throw Xander in the air” exercises, which are surprisingly exhausting! Hopefully I’ll get back into using FitFu a few times a week too!
Good on you for yours and putting them out there – it should help you stick to them! How do you plan to sort your finances? A tool like https://www.xero.com/personal/ might be useful for £24/year? When Jem and I wanted to be more careful of our spending we made sure that we put every purchase possible on debit cards (no cash) so that we could track where our money was going, and then I just manually collated it from my online banking into spreadsheets, and then did my own analysis, but it took me about a day every 2 months to do in that much detail! Xero would have done most of that for me.
